Situated on the mighty Zambezi river, in a place little known to the greater world, the Tiger fish gather in prolific numbers. Here on the Zambezi River, known to some as the Tiger Mile, the eternal contest between man and fish is still played out against a background, that is as ancient and as pure as the very battle itself.

Perched on a high hill in a private nature reserve, overlooking the Zambezi river and surrounded by breathtaking views, lies Tiger Mile Lodge.

The lodge, situated in the unspoilt wilderness of the Zambezi Valley, is located approximately 90kms downstream from Livingstone and 30 kms from where the river becomes Lake Kariba.

Here, upon arrival, you will be greeted by the owners and hosts of Tiger Mile Lodge, Mac and Alma Macdonald.

Activities

• Fishing: This stretch of the Zambezi river is renowned for its quantity and diversity of fish species. Famous for its Tiger Fish, the area also has other species such as Red, White and Black Bream, Bottlenose, Cornish Jack, Pink Lady, Chesser and Barbell.

• Birding: A Birders Paradise - where hundreds of species of birds can be observed in their natural environment.

• Nature walks: 3000 plus hectares of private nature reserve and 5 kms of the Zambezi River frontage to be explored, where animals such as antelope, crocodiles and hippos can be spotted. (Guides available).

• Boat cruises: Explore the river by motorboat and experience a Zambezi sunset from the water.
• Village visits: Having lived on the banks of the river for thousands of years, the Tonga people have a fascinating culture. You will have the opportunity to visit a traditional Tonga village and interact with the local people. See also a hot soda water spring.
• Blissful relaxation: Take a plunge in our swimming pool, or just chill out on the pool deck with a refreshing drink.

Accommodation

The Lodge has 2 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, sleeping 2 people each. There are also 2 thatched chalets with en-suite bathrooms, each sleeping two people. Altogether, Tiger Mile Lodge can accommodate a maximum of 8 people. This allows for the kind of personalized attention and good food we are famous for.

Other facilities include television room with Satellite TV, a pool deck with stunning views, a barbeque area, email service, full laundry service and a well stocked bar.

Rates per Day - US$250 per person per night sharing.
A 50% deposit at time of booking is required & the balance 60 days prior to arrival.
